Lloyd Cole
Lloyd Cole is a British singer-songwriter known for his sharp lyricism, melodic craftsmanship, and effortlessly cool delivery. Rising to prominence in the 1980s as the frontman of Lloyd Cole and the Commotions, he gained acclaim with hits like ‘Rattlesnakes,’ a literate, hook-laden debut that remains a cult classic, ‘Perfect Skin,’ and ‘Lost Weekend.’ Cole embarked on a diverse solo career from 1989, exploring folk, rock, and electronic influences across a string of critically acclaimed albums like ‘Don’t Get Weird on Me Babe’ and ‘Music in a Foreign Language’. His wit, melancholy, and poetic storytelling has cemented his status as a respected voice in modern song writing. With a career spanning four decades, he continues to evolve and inspire.
Ultan Conlon
For the Galway-born Ultan Conlon, his moment of transformation came at the age of 13, with the passing of his father. His earliest memories are of his dad singing along to old standards as they crackled through the car radio. A proficient guitarist, he tapped into his creative well, writing as a form of comfort. This has resulted in four acclaimed albums featuring poetically-enigmatic songs that stem from his personal experiences, from his battle with alcohol addiction, isolation, or journeying towards self-acceptance and love. With comparisons to Roy Orbison, he has drawn acclaim at home and abroad. Ultan has shared the stage with many luminaries and has performed duets with Glen Hansard and John Martyn.
