Coming to Monroe’s Backstage venue this August is The Céadaoin Collective, an Irish Traditional/Contemporary Folk group. The line up comprises Emma O’Reilly, a highly regarded singer-songwriter who has toured internationally with her music, Robert Harvey, a champion Flautist and Irish Traditional music royalty, Carmel Whelan, a highly sought-after vocalist, composer, and choral director, Andrew Kin Yip Yau, an accomplished performer and orchestral musician across a range of instruments, and Niall Mannion, a widely respected Violinist and Pianist. Each member of the group is a multi-instrumentalist, boasting national and international tours and performances to their names, or to the various orchestras, choirs, and ensembles with which they have performed. Setting out on their inaugural tour around Ireland, the concert will feature the first full performance of O’Reilly’s new EP, Sailing Home in arrangements exclusive to the group, new music from Whelan, Traditional selections from Harvey, and new arrangements of folk tunes by Andrew Kin Yip Yau.

Support for the evening comes from The Opacas, who’s unique brand of upbeat rock evokes the beatles. Natives of Galway, the Opacas‘ most recent album was recorded in one halcyon, hectic day in Abbey road, and they are set to perform at the famous Cavern Club in Liverpool in October.
